View from the top of the Arc de Triomphe. You can see the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysées and finally Montmartre — blurry and far off in the distance.
This was a fun and purely touristy trip. Though I had serious doubts I would get in for free, my Art History student card pulled it off for me yet again! The view was very much worth it, and if I had to I think I would have payed. Though there was an attempt to integrate a historical element to the Arc with some projection screens and hands-on exhibits on the ‘museum’ level — the real selling point was undoubtedly the view.
The main star was so-much-so the Eiffel Tower that I can’t even imagine climbing the tower itself — what would be there to see?
