Port de Vanves Flea Market, Saturday morning. Now this was a great reason to get up early, and it was just a couple of blocks away from my dorm. There were tons of vintage photos, cheap little trinkets, and some great random finds. I mean just look at that photo, there is literally a frog playing a banjo in there! Though I didn’t buy much and mostly took photos I did find a pair of adorable hugging salt and pepper shakers. What can I say, kitsch is cool! Plus I’m really convinced now to try and make the trek out to the covered markets of Port de St-Ouen — they have an entire section devoted to “ancient, scientific obejcts, toys”

    I'm a third year University of Chicago student with a concentration in Political Science and a minor in French Language and Literature. In the Winter of 2009, I'll fulfill my dream of studying abroad in Paris, with an enrollment in a ten-week social sciences program.
